The presentation, "Retirement Income Backstop", focused on how to inform and demonstrate how permanent cash value life insurance plays an important role in a client’s financial plan during the Retirement years . John discussed:
- Managing risks in retirement - withdrawal risk, sequence of returns, longevity risk/outliving assets, inflation risk and taxes
- How the tax preferred treatment and flexibility of permanent life insurance can provide a backstop against these risks in retirement
- How permanent life insurance provides tax and portfolio diversification for a client’s financial plan. A key takeaway is for financial advisors and planners to consider permanent life insurance when helping their clients prepare for and live their retirement years.
